«Best private tour in Moscow!»

Was cold, but amazing! Snow everywhere and the hot oven in the old Soviet dacha house! I’ve been in the real Soviet past of the hosts. Then they invited us into the modern house for tea and homemade cakes. It was most interesting tour in Moscow from all my week there.

«Afternoon tour and tea”

This is a must do when in Moscow. This was one of the top adventures we had during our week long stay in Moscow.
Nadia is an excellent hostess! I highly recommend this tour. She meets you at a metro station and drives you to her dacha about 15 minutes away. The dacha is located just outside the outer ring of Moscow.
It was interesting to see what the land looks like outside the city center. Nadia speaks excellent English. She explains the grounds of her dacha and the four buildings on the property. You go through one of the buildings which was her grandparents dacha. She has memorabilia from soviet times throughout the home.
After the tour, we sat down and had freshly made tea and baked goods. Her son brewed the tea in an old fashion teapot outside. We added mint leaves from her garden. She explained the purpose of the dacha and what they grow.
During the tea time, we had a great time discussing her life in Russia and Soviet Union. It was fun to learn about her culture. After tea, she drove us back to metro station.
This tour gives you an inside viewpoint of Soviet life and modern life.
Nadia was in constant contact with me via email prior to the tour.

“Surprise, surprise, surprise! Best private trip ever!”

 I had no idea what to expect exactly from this trip before I went, but it turned out to be a great great experience. It was a fun journey down the memory lane for me, a Chinese whose family went through a similar period of planning economy before the 1990s when life was primitive and manual workers were highly respected. Nadia the hostess was being very nice! I got to try on a Soviet-time girl’s school uniform and a dacha owner’s working equipment, very interesting! I really don’t want to reveal more here, but I do encourage you to explore this trip if you haven’t yet. It’s something different!

«We are very grateful for the interesting experience»

It was Amazing! We were brought to this Dacha to visit Muscovites. We were in the past! Dacha is preserved in between 1950 and 1970! Interior, home, garden came out of a real Soviet past. Everithing was like 50 years ago. The owners show and tell about everything that there is in the house. And then there was tea. We made a fire inside the samovar and picked herbs for tea. Ate pancakes and homemade jam. The tour is interesting and informative. This is the most striking impression from the trip to Russia.

«It was cool»

The native moscovites invite to their Dacha. We had a lot of fan there. I was a «дачница». We put on Soviet cloves, I wore water with «коромысло». And we had tea from «самовар». Interactive and informative tour.

“Lots of fun and really informative! A great alternative tour for visitors to Moscow”

I visited Nadya’s dacha over Easter and had a wonderful day. Getting to Nadya’s dacha on the metro was really easy, where Nadya was ready and waiting for me. The dacha is a comfortable five minute drive from the metro but still felt a long way from the noise and bustle of Moscow.
Nadya has lots to say and is an extremely informed guide. I know quite a bit about Russian history and still learnt lots of little gems I would never have found out about.
The dacha itself is full of original pieces of Soviet design: children’s books, records, household implements among others. All things you are unlikely to see anywhere else. Nadya has put a lot of effort into preserving objects and finding out their history. She is able to give carefully researched answers to every question I had.
The visit was concluded with a delicious tea ceremony with traditional Russian treats and tea. Even the afternoon tea served as a great learning opportunity: on the history of tea in Russia, how to make traditional Russian ‘jam’, and even tips on the best way to produce delicious pancakes. All in all, and excellent and informative trip and I really enjoyed meeting the charming Nadya and her mother. Thank you!

”For once in my life, I was a native Moscowian”

My mother and I were warmly welcomed by Nadya and her mother to visit their long-owned Dacha just «in the center of the new Moscow». Nadya told us stories of her childhood in the Soviet era and let us try on her traditional Russian clothes, taught us how to do some daily routines of Soviet ladies such as balancing water buckets. (Of course not heavy, rather fun!) My mom enjoyed doing that very much! Then we had lunch cooked by Nadya’s mother together in a truly Russian family style. The food was fantastic! next time we go we will definitely take their master cooking class! Nadya also taught us how a Russian drinks their vodka! It was interesting. I really recommend this tour. Definitivamente es una escala obligada en la visita a Moscú. Los dueños son muy amables, Nadia habla un perfecto inglés y el lugar es muy acogedor,… la comida es excelente. Imperdible el tradicional té preparado desde el samovar y unas «empanadas» típicas de rusia (es como si fuera un pan relleno). Nos buscaron en la estación del metro y nos llevaron a conocer esta fantástica y tradicional finca (dacha) rusa. Toda la experiencia tomó unas dos horas aproximadamente y no fue para nada caro. La finca conservó todo lo que había durante la época soviética y nos hicieron un relato pormenorizado de cómo era la vida en ese entonces. Nos ofrecieron una clase para aprender a hacer una típica sopa rusa pero lamentablemente no teníamos tiempo, lo dejamos pendiente para la próxima visita.
Muy muy recomendable.

Nadya has told a lot of stories about the time that her (grand)parents stayed in this Dacha. The Dacha is in the original state including furniture and clothing’s!
During our visit, we had a lovely lunch and a Russian tea.
The hospitality was great!

Blini Reizen is a Dutch touroperator who offers trips to the former Soviet-Union. We always advise our clients to book excursions with a local guide: to view the country and it’s people with different eyes and to get information they otherwise wouldn’t get to know (easy). Two of our travellers found the «Be a guest at a real muscovite’s dacha!»-tour at the Sputnik-website, which offers a great variaton of tours. They liked it very much, I quote: «Our excursion to the Dasha Nadya was fun and educational. We were warmly welcomed and even got a nice souvenir to take home!».
As an employee of Blini Reizen I arranged this tour for our clients and found Nadya very pleasant to work with: she is accurate, flexible, cooperativem, interested and always trying to be helpful (e.g. finding out the best way to reach the meeting point from the hotel of clients, etc.). I would surely recommend this tour!

I’ve visited this dacha several times and every visit is a great experience: still being inside Big Moscow you are passed away from the city and ready either to discover a small world of ex-Soviet country life or to nostalgic a bit about that moment of the past. A very significant part of Soviet life is very well presented in tinny museum, grounded by the owners in the original old «dacha» house. Guided tour is provided by the owners either in English and in Russian. A very good add-on is a bio-garden, in which you may to get some berries, vegetables etc. Delicious home made meal is a nice point to finalize your visit.
Accessibility of this place is just perfect: you can easy reach it by car via different routs or even my subway! Of course, all main facilities are provided in owner’s main house (WC, hot water etc). WiFi is available as well for those who can not stop waiting to share their great experience via Facebook or Twitter.

We found the site via Facebook. Came to the place and get out by taxi (500 rubles). Nadya told us about the plants, feed the berries and vegetables. In the house was served buffet — vodka, appetizer, kvass and compote. The appetizers were collected fresh vegetables, cabbage pie and homemade pickled vegetables. Then tour was continued in the following rooms. Old machinery, accessories for the hobby. Things ancestors of owner, an old interior and smell.

My country has the Communist past, but this tour was very interesting and different from anything we have seen before.

Highly recommend to those interested in contemporary Russia and the Soviet period. Hope to come here again in winter season

We enjoyed very much our dacha tour! Nadya and Sveta were very receptive and gave a real Russian experiance. I always dreamed of visiting a dacha and now my dream came true in great style! The dacha tour provided by Nadya is a must for those who want to get acquainted with how Russians really live.

Were at the dacha on June 27. Ate cucumbers and berries from the garden. Drank kvass and compote. This is a small plot of land with an old house and pleasant hosts. Restored Soviet-era life inside of the house was interesting to explore. We were shown old furniture,  sewing machines, slide projector, accessories for hiking,  clothes and even school form of the Soviet period. Liked.

My friends invited me to this trip. I took the risk and bought a private tour to this dacha house. We ordered a complete package-tour, lunch, tea from a samovar. Everything was delicious and different from the food in the Russian restaurant. The hostess speaks English fairly well, not really good, but with enthusiasm. I have not seen anything like this museum. This is a private area, a normal house, turned into a museum by the family of Muscovites. The museum contains furniture, old things are different subjects, clothes, appliances, dishes and many other items. Consider myself very lucky that my first visit to Russia end up in interesting and unusual place. I spent a few hours at the dacha with my friends and i ready to go there again

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try the real life of Muscovites and enjoy the company of great hosts. We learned a lot about Russia that is not written in books and newspapers.
